The San Diego North Economic Development Council developed a multi-phased project designed to increase awareness of the major business clusters in our region in order to attract new investment opportunities, and increase jobs within the clusters. The first phase was the release of the San Diego North Economic Outlook in February 2006, which was a magazine-type publication that provided an overview of the 12 dominant clusters in the region, written by local business, education, and civic leaders. The second phase began a month later where the SDNEDC held monthly news conferences that brought the media together with the business leaders of the highlighted cluster for that month. The third phase of the project was the awards program held in December 2006, where we recognized the companies that best exemplified their respective clusters.

The Chairmen’s RoundTable is a non-profit volunteer organization comprised of successful Chief Executive Officers with diverse industry backgrounds who provide businesses in San Diego County advice on how to manage and grow their businesses through a well-defined mentoring program. CRT members provide this service free of charge to qualified area businesses as a way of giving back to the community.
